Our Story
A lot of people ask… “How did you two meet?” The short answer is Bumble, a dating site; however, there’s a lot more to the story than that. We were both living in the beautiful State of Southern California at the time. Adam living his best life in Huntington Beach while I was chasing my dreams in the heart of Los Angeles. For those that don’t know, Adam is from London, England while I’m from Portland, Oregon. Growing up on opposite sides of the world the two of us seemed to have very similar morals and perspectives on life.
We started chatting on the dating site but never established a date to meet. However Adam continued to shoot his shot and flirt with me on Instagram over the following year, while I continued to make my interest clear and amuse him in conversation. As time went on, I later moved to Arizona and Adam got a bit more crafty in his approach by asking his charming line, “would you fancy a video chat with me sometime?” We both thought, “What’s the worst that could happen? We live in completely different states, talked for so long and have never met, so if it goes poorly we never have to speak to each other again!”
However, the two of us hit it off instantly and continued to speak on the phone for hours at a time. I eventually told Adam I’d really love to meet him in person in which he agreed. I said, “if you’re serious, you should come visit me for a weekend in Arizona.” A short while after, he made it happen and took the six hour journey to meet me for the first time and we shared the most special weekend together. From then on, we were completely infatuated with each other and had our eyes set on no one else. We both knew our connection was special and began making long distance work, traveling back and forth for our first year together.
We got engaged exactly two years after we met in Arizona where we regularly walked the lake at sunset but on this particular day, Adam arranged for burning candles in front of the fountains along with a pianist singing, your song by Elton John.
After a quick swirl and whisper in my ear, Adam got down on one knee and I said yes to a lifetime with him.
